Hi all!

I've been trying to add custom pictures to a custom faction, to replace the things as highlighted in the picture, along with the faction logo and background screens when loading/after winning or losing.

Whenever I use the example faction file from this forum, it just replaces one of the major factions with the modified one rather than adding it as an additional option.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks :)

Official sources don't even mention whether this is possible or not. I'm investigating the matter and while I am not sure if it is possible I have an idea how it could be done.

AFAIK the leader screen uses only 2D graphics without conventionally UV-wrapped 3D models what would make things easier. Backgrounds seem to be static but I am not sure if there are any tricky SFXs applied. Moving body parts are separate planes of a 3D object so it seems impossible to add completely new leader schemes, but if the planes are not super-precisely tailored (leader skins use transparency so it wouldn't make sense to tailor the planes - that would increase poly count without visible changes) it should be possible to completely reskin existing leaders.

I haven't tried adding a custom logo yet, but all the necessary elements for custom factions are listed in GuiElements[AffinityMappings].xml as icons, so one could experiment with static images as well. In theory if it was possible to create Dynamic Bitmaps these could be done from scratch.
