I'm messing a bit with the game, seeing how feasable a complete conversion is. So i'm trying to create a completely new Affinity.


I've thus added a new faction inside Simulation/Factions.xml, and added an entry inside Gui/GuiElements[Factions].xml, both have matching IDs unlike any vanilla ones.


I've also added localization entries that show up if modified into vanilla factions. I can get my mod to boot, but my faction isn't listed either in the Faction selection screen or as an Affinity in the faction designer screen. It looks like the game only cares about vanilla faction IDs.


I don't really understand why, and this area of the game as remained mostly untouched from what I can gather.


Are the faction displayed hard-coded and only Vanilla faction IDs will show up or is there a way to add a new affinity with it's own ID and get it to be displayed alongside others ?


Because as far as I know, the only Factions added post launch into the game were Official ones (Mezari) so hard-coded ?


I'ld be very happy if someone could point me to the files that I might have forgot or give me the proper procedure to add a new faction.
