In the last stream, Amplimath talked about the fact we could try to create our own maps if we looked at the save files closely enough.

But the xml files are only generator instructions. I can't open the .map files. Does anyone know how to read them ?

The game.xml file seems to be the one you need.

Nope, it only lists the POI, not the actual map.

In fact the map is the aggregation of a terrain, elevations and POI.

I'd like to start small and just create maps with only one kind of terrain then change it bit by bit.

It doesn't seem like the .map files could be of any use? Since these are just relative offsets.

Though you could try to figure out the Symbol table, to interpret the content of the .map files and see if you can get any knowledge out of that. I think.

I think the xml files are insctructions for the generator. Then the map files are the actual info of the terrain.
