Inspired by Aeternum, it would be fantastic if we were able to engineer our lands; make forests, add on to/start rivers, make mountain ranges for strategic use, etc. Want to cut your entire capital off from the world? Okay. I'd imagine there would need a bit of a rework of tiles bonuses. Higher elevation would add industry and coin, but take away food. Mountains (impassable) would lower trade gold, perhaps. This also comes with being able to take things apart; altering a tile removes any anomaly or resource.

The ability to engineer basic anomalies like oases would add a level of pride in your cities.

It could MAYBE be possible... it was possible in Endless Space to change planet types but atleast when it comes to me I would have to see how district building works at all and whether it's possible to change terrain types by utilizing that method.

What I'm sure is that it would need hardcoding to change any unit to make it improve terrain.

Actually now as I think... if somebody could find out how those pillar like spells works it would be wonderful.

It seems to me, from an XML perspective, that engineering landscapes (forests, red clay, etc) would be much easier than elevation. I'm seeing plenty of code for them, but not much for elevation.
