I'm coming here, because I have no expirience in modding. My only concern in this game is that the number of characters for the names of the regions are so limited.

I was playing the Necrophages and wanted to name all my regions like cruel german words, but most of the were too long

Is this easy to do or shall give up on my wish for a cruel named world of the Necrophages?

I definitely support this, I just tried renaming a city because I hadn't previously realized you could, I tried renaming my Cultist city to 'The Citadel', but only had enough characters for 'The Citade'. Only 10 characters per region, makes renaming pretty limited.

I was able to find this:

But nothing I search for gets me anything other than localizations. (Nor can i find any reference using the LocPair.) I think it's hard coded.

I have found a little trick to extend the number of characters you can use per city/area name. If you will leave a character at the end of the name and then arrow key to the left it will allow you to input another character; this can be repeated as needed to extend the name. Using this you can make names as long as you like even though it can be rather annoying... just really odd that you are so limited normally which seems to be the case with a few minor issues. I would personally like to be able to rename heroes.

For that matter, army names just aren't long enough either; but I'll try this out on naming armies too.

And agreed, it would be great to be able to rename heroes...
