I see that in tradablecategory you can adjust the exclusives and normal heros. I'd really like to find out where the game adds the 7 non exclusive heros to the game. I'd like to have the 7 non exclusives be available as soon as you get the marketplace.

As I read it you could look at my question a few ways.

You could increase the amount of exclusives in the game (Currently 3).

Increase the markets non exclusives in the game (7).

At turn 1 you have access to the 3 exclusives. A random set.

Later turns you get access to the other 7. Where is this set at? I'd like to start with all 10 available.

If i remember correctly, in ES, u can purchase your first Hero at no cost and choose it between 3 of them.

Seems to be a good idea, because the first hero we got is not always the one we would like to have.

(but some heroes break the game)

Ok in simulation\SimulationDescriptors[EmpireType].xml

You can adjust how many exclusives and non exclusives you can get

I think you can change non exclusives here TradableCategoryDefinitions.xml

7

1

1.2

3

100

and you may want to adjust this if you changed exclusive heros

50

1

1.2

3

100

Hello,

If you want to change the starting hero of a faction you will have to do it manually through the FactionTraits[Affinity].xml.

The line below is the one the create the starting army (Broken Lords as example):

After knowing which hero you want to have, its number will be located in its localization key (that is the easy way to find it, thanks to its in-game name).

Otherwise you got it right.

The only changes you can make on marketplace hero management are in TradableCategoryDefinitions.xml

But it is a bit limited. Exclusive heroes amount is hard coded. Same for the spawn of all available heroes after the first exclusives turns have ended.

About increasing the market non exclusive heroes you can change the MaximumNumberOfOccurencesOnMarket but please know that there is another factor taken into account in this calcul: the number of faction (less factions = less heroes available).

Hey Pikou. Thanks for your reply. I changed SimulationDescriptors[EmpireType].xml maximum exclusives from 3 to 6 and on the first turn there were 6 exclusives so I was able to change that amount. Its coded in EmpireType. It was actually pretty nice with 6 starting because I finally got a few decent heroes this game. I'd rolled a good seed a few times and kept getting dud beginning heroes. The faction I made kinda hinges on getting atleast one decent hero.
