I have no idea if this has already been discussed but modding is always going to happen with every game. Modding adds replayability and also can bring in new customers to older games. I have bought games years after there expiration date mainly on the idea that there are a lot of cool mods for it. GMod for example. I would like to see Workshop compatibility through Steam as this will make making, distributing and installing mods easier than, say, Nexus or any other third party mod organizer. This can increase reputability and can make more money in the long run, assuming people make worthy mods. Skyrim is another example. Skyrim is not past its prime , but it is getting there. But ever since its workshop integration, the play-ability has gone back up as mods can now be downloaded with very little work by the user. If enough people believe me then a poll may be started.

I think this is one of those catch-22 situations because the addition of Steam Workshop would significantly increase the number of modders as it becomes a lot more accessible. Right now I do mods for myself because the effort of releasing them is to much. Games that support workshop though are a lot nicer and easier to share.

I totally Agree. Its way easier as all a user has to do is click a check-mark and its already installed. its a little bit more work for modders but the added popularity of the easy to install mods will make it worth making mods.
