My First EL mod, need's a proof read?

Solved



Hey, It's my first time making a mod for EL or ES and below is what I have written so far, it appears in the mod section, and then loads okay and the only thing is the effect dosen't load, have i done the effect part right?







Testing.xml





- - Unknown thing thing -



- - Testing/GuiElements[FactionTraits].xml



- Testing/FactionTraits[Custom].xml - Testing/SimulationDescriptors.xml Testing/SimulationDescriptors[FactionTraits].xml



- Localization














In GuiElements[FactionTraits]







- - Thing Thing





In FractionTraits[Custom].xml





-







in SimulationDescriptors[FactionTrait]





- -









Any Ideas where I have gone wrong?

Hello,

Do you mean that after loading your mod you can the your trait but not its effect.

In this case, what is your intention here? Adding 4 movement points to units?

I would be interested to have access to your mod files for a better look at it (and to test it).

Basically yeah the mod loads fine and you can put it on a custom faction but when you're in the game the movement is not added to the units, i keep changing the numbers but it only really changes the cost the actual movement doesn't change



It's not a complicated mod, but it is my first so i wanted to start simple



I have a zip file or winrar of the mod if you want?



P.s. Their is no upload button on here, so would it be over e-mail ?

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't this directing all bonuses towards only those that are garrisoned?

Can't blame you for thinking so, but below is a line from the game about another trait which works









maybe it should be; "EmpireTypeMajor/ClassArmy/ClassUnit"/> ? Not too sure why that would be so









I think the Testing.xml should read



Simulation/SimulationDescriptors
  • .xml



    But i have changed
  • to [FactionTraits] Is this okay?

    It is very weird because the
  • should authorize any wording to work, being [FactionTraits] or [MinorFaction] or else.

    Anyway, glad to hear it is okay now smiley: smile
