It seems to be used to manage battle bonus.

Especially for the major AI to better handle the minor AI.

Bit late at night for me to go hunting and you probably already know this but im not sure what you're after ^^ but in another file you'll find "ControlledByMajorAI" and it'll explain more what this variable is but i'd have to agree with Pikou, just seem's to add 1/4 to the majorAI in battle against the MinorAI since its all done in auto between the 2 AI, probably just to keep balance and consistency at higher levels
