Hey Pikou !



I'd like the AI to be able to recruit those Militias.



Sadly, as I told you, the Design doesnt appear at start, so they cant recruit it.

I checked everything you told me previously, so maybe you forgot something ?

In order to see them at start don't forget to add the Unit4 faction trait.

It is in the Gui element (replace name by the correct faction):





%UnitBrokenLordsMilitiaTitle

%UnitBrokenLordsMilitiaDescription





Then you need to add FactionTraitBrokenLordsUnit4 into the right faction into FactionTraits[Major].xml and FactionTraits[Affinity].xml too.

Oh dont disturb with that, I think I found the issue, im stupid I did copied/pasted to quickly in UnitBodyDefinitions and so I forgot the word "Militia" behind "UnitTypeCultists......."



Sorry idiot error smiley: stickouttongue



EDIT : HELL YEA, it works, finally... (even if I have to create a new design for them, it doesnt show at start for unknown reasons, else for Cultists.. !?)

That's weird!

I was sure my broken lords militia had the basic militia attributes.

I will make the other militia to see if there is something specific I forgot.

Well we are nearly done...







Except that I think you forgot to set the stats of the Militia unit and I dunno how to do so ! (At the moment, they have 1 HP and 1 in each attributes !) I know it is in SimulationDescriptors[UnitType].xml but not sure what I have to modify.

Hi everyone,



This morning, I started to make a mod to unlock all the weapons for some units (most of the infantry units), everything worked perfectly, no issues here.



Then, I wondered if I could make Militia recruitable. Again successful ! I modified their cost, their stats, unlocked all the 2H weapons for them, changed their size to small and un-hided them in UnitDesigns and UnitBodyDefinitions.



I was so excited to play with all those cool changes and happy that everything was working fine. Else bonus militia...



Indeed, Cities no longer have free militia. However, I changed nothing about it. I checked everywhere, I even increased the militia cap to 3 still no more militias in my cities...



This is really annoying and make the game unplayable for AI, can anyone tell me what I've done wrong ?

Ok so here is your mod working as intended:

Militia.rar



Militia design is available for Broken Lords at start of game.

I let you copy paste the elements for the other factions as you like.



I hope to make an update of the tutorial on a short notice.

Soooo, I was really impatient to get this to work and it works ! Nearly.. Sadly, I can see the unit stats, the description, I can produce and it even shows the preview picture. But there is no model for the unit.........



I think I forgot a file in Gui folder but I cant find it.



Here is what I modified, could someone tell me what I forgot (lol im so frustrated, only the damn model is missing, everything else is fine...)

By the way, for those who would be interrested in this new unit, I added an english localization so feel free to try ! (the models are awesome and I found sad not to use them more than for militias only !)

Ye it would be really nice of you cause I have no idea how to do with all those simulators and localizations things, now it looks alot more complicated to me. I will have a look but I make no promesses..



EDIT : Well doesnt look so complicated after all. But will AI be able to manage this new unit ?

I would recommand you to get back the old unit body, but to make a new unitdesign while keeping the old militia ones.

This new unit design will have a different name and different attributes from the unitbody militia it refers too.



Just take a look at the settler examples smiley: smile



But indeed I need to make a proper tutorial for this!

Weird, I had no issues in my game else than no militia spawn...



Well, I havent created any new units, just modified the militia unit so I can recruit them !



Perhaps if you added militia as a separate unit leaving the normal militia code alone. This should allow you to utilize the militia graphics as a separate unit and leave the code alone. Unless perhaps I am misunderstanding what you want.




Thats maybe a better idea but I dont know how to create a new unit and its not a part of the tutorials :/

Cannot find a unit design for the militia unit(s) to create.



I suspect that you replaced the militia to make your new units without changing their name, or you changed their names but did not make a new design for the city militia.

I don't have time to further test it atm but in case you still have difficulties I will try to have a closer look at your files.
