NOTE: This mod doesn't use the ingame Mod interface, it's installed by manually merging directly into the Public folder in your install directory. (There's a second folder with a backup of the original game files included with the mod for uninstallation purposes. Check the Readme for more details.)



I've made some small adjustments to Cultist for better gameplay, just thought I'd share them here.



-Swaps Preacher and Fanatic, so Cultists have a viable earlygame unit. A necessity for any 4X faction, in my opinion.

-Reduces the upkeep cost of Converted Villages, no matter how you look at it they're just far more expensive than is justifiable.

-Weapons of the Enemy reduced to 0 cost, this allows them a reasonable degree of customization without compromising their quintessential gameplay elements.



This mod goes a long way toward bringing Cultist more in line with the other civs, I really recommend trying it out if you like the faction. Any feedback or suggestions are certainly appreciated as well.



Version 3 notes: No actual difference from Version 2, just updated the Readme to have more clarity.

I haven't encounter/played cultist so I don't know how they "work", but I will keep your files just in case I need them.

I don't mind at all, my mod changes so little I can hardly even justify calling it a mod. It's basically just a little pet project putting changes I hope to see in future patch notes into the game myself.



The Cultists are extremely unique and a lot of fun, I really recommend giving them a try at some point. They just have what I consider to be some critical design flaws that get in the way of their multiplayer/higher difficulty viability, which is what I wanted to answer with these changes.
