I've had a few people talk to me on the Steam Workshop pages about localisation issues, so I'd like to know how that stuff works with mods.

I only speak English, so I can only really make my mods in English. However, if I set up an English localisation file then people with their games language set to something else will see lots of %thingthingamyTitle everywhere, since there is no French, German or whatever folders.

Is there a way to get the game to look at the English folder as a fallback, so that if people are running the game in a different language then they'll at least get some description, instead of just the missing string entries?

Hi, you need to do all language subfolders in localization, then copy your xml english file in each of them.

And of course, only add new content of your mod in your file.

It's a little boring to do each time some stuff is added.

So, it's one of the reasons i've made ELS, the tool automaticly do it.

Blargh, that's really in-elegant. I might have to use your tool for just that, then. I prefer to do everything manually, just to make sure I didn't miss anything, but that's a very useful feature.

A "quick and dirty" fix is to copy your English localization file into appropriately named folders. With the file structure set up like that, it should at least display the English strings in other languages, which would then give you a little more time to find people to help with the localization.
