Increasing the difficulty of minor factions over time

Does anyone have an idea of where I might start to adjust the stats of minor faction units over time?



It can be tied to turns or ages.



Will the changes effect units already in existence?

When you talk about minor faction does it concern only the units from hostile village? Or it should impact your assimilated units?



I would think about creating a global event triggered by a hidden quest to do so, at least in order to have a notification about the effect.

Otherwise there might be a way to unlock a hidden technology at the start of an era that will have the same purpose (thanks to a hidden quest too).

And yes, I just meant units from hostile villages.



I originally tried to tie the effects into the tech eras, but it didn't have any effect. I also see that there are upgraded designs for the minor factions based on tech eras.



The hidden quest/tech sounds perfect. Is there an example of a hidden quest/tech already in game that I can look up and emulate?
