So I've been doing some hero skill modding recently and decided to buff the endless day hero Eslek Tarosh (along with other skills) and somewhere along the way i must've done something wrong because now his skill tree looks like this:

And I have no idea why, none of the other heroes have this issue however after backing out of the skill tree and then looking at another heroes skill tree the same thing happens causing the ui to freeze so i can't back out of it.

Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks in Advance.

I don't really worked with heroes skills from yet. Maybe (if not already done) you could take a look at the Tutorial_modding.pdf, page 28 ?

Thank you for the reply and I have checked through the modding guide however most of the modding was done using another mod to compare what it does and what the effects are. For example I used it to change the first infantry skill to only provide the counter attack capacity and update the tooltip to match and all of this works with no problems however I haven't found any obvious reason why this happens only with this hero I would assume I have not (or incorrectly) updated the GUI for the skills for either flying or the haunts faction however I haven't noticed anything obviously wrong so any pointers would be very useful. Anyway thanks for the reply.

I suspect some links have been broken and you tried to change too many things in one time.

I presume these are the 4 files you want (Localization just in case). I believe that i modified several of both the haunts and flying skill trees namely heroskillleaderbattle19 and 23 and heroskillcommon01.I also modified leadermap15 however i believe i reverted these changes back to the base game. Also heroskillleaderbattle11 is in two separate trees and i modified it realized this and then reverted it back also as i didn't want the changes to affect 2 separate trees.There may be others of course that i can't remember and some changes that don't affect Eslek Tarosh at all e.g. changes to the infantry skill tree (which work fine). The two i reverted back may have been reverted incorrectly so may be cauusing problems i am not sure. Thanks for the reply if you need additional files just post and i will try and upload those.

On a side note my skill trees (The lines connecting skills) appear to be different (Atleast I think they are) even with a total reinstall.







To me there appear to be many more connecting lines than normal in these skill trees. Is this normal? Was this updated recently? Am i just remebering incorrectly? And could this possibly have something to do with why my skill tree modifications cause the aforementioned issue. e.g. Do my modifications not take this into account etc.

Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Ok I got it!

Was a tough one

The GUI is breaking because there is a small mistake in your file GuiElements[UnitSkill].xml

Line 1071 there is a "Level1" missing at the end of



It should fix your main issue.

And I launched a game successfully with Eslek having life instead of initiative on his skill "Perfect Timing" (localization file does not seem to change the titles/descriptions by the way).

Edit: Just updated all my changes for the new expansion and the fix suggested and everything works perfectly thanks again for taking the time to solve this issue for me.
