The game said she would be in a sieged city but this wasnt the case. I guess it has something to do with the quests of the ardent mages at the end, when quest monster appear and siege one of your cities.

I have exactly the same issue. It happens if there are two armies, each with a hero, defending a sieged city. The hero that wasn't "the" hero for the battle will not be able to return to the academy afterwards.



It's not just ardent mages... it has happened to me with ardent mages, wild walkers and vaulters.
