Where to start. We basically keep playing with desynchs because the resync process will ♥♥♥♥ up our game in most cases.

This isnt a rant, I just realized this bug was never posted, I just figured devs couldnt figure out how to post it. So for the sake of it, here is the bug report.

I call it the savegame corruption bug, because it corrupts your savegame. When reloading a game, all players (or most?) will see a turn0 start, their hero with no city settled. Even though the game may be turn 80.

Sometimes you can "salvage" the MP game by going back 2-3 saves to get an uncorrupted version, but you end up losing players through this process usually. So we just play desyncd games to prevent them from getting ruined.

It is probably the most gamebreaking bug, as this happens very very frequently. This also occurs when the host DCs and we are in the "resync" lobby.

Why aren't you posting this in Tech support (with the save game and diagnostics)?f this happens a lot you really need to set your dumping method to text and post the issue so someone can look into it.

Another idea is to have someone else post or play without the guy with the high ping.

This is not a known issue, or we'd never have released update. Did this occur before Forges of Creation? Could you provide a save please, so we can reproduce this issue on our end? Other things we may need here.

This was happening before forges but it's not so common imo. The bug where you rejoin saved games and can't see peoples names is much more common. In general the OP is right....saved games are real buggy and you lose people often trying to restart.

Sorry, I got the forum wrong.

I thought I posted about it at the time and forgot about it, this has been happening since before Forges of Creation. I think it started about 12-18 months ago with some big patch or release?

I honestly don´t remember when it started, it has been so long.

The frequency of this is about 75% on resynched games, and this doesn´t happen just to me. EVERYONE gets this turn1 style savegame on resynch. I believe the attached autosave was the same turn, sometimes you have to go back a few turns to get a savegame that is not corrupted.

Players usually also have to completely restart Endless Legend, because they get white player slots (they cannot see anyone) when they join a lobby, until their completely restart their game.

( Just keep that here as a note, maybe it is related, maybe not - it definitely only happens once you get a corrupted savegame resync lobby !!! So they are related )

Either way, you can see the 2nd savegame it looks like turn1, but you can still see traces left of the old game, technology counter, and other things.

Now it doesn´t happen as frequently anymore, but the frequency is still 75% of all games. The reason why is (1) I don´t play as much anymore (2) I do not resynch anymore. No I am not the host, in case you think it is my connection, I am never the host, there is always someone else that is the host. As I said this happens to everyone in the game.

The reason why people also think it happens less frequently, is because we went from always clicking the resynch button when the game goes red, to getting the awareness out and now nobody resynchs due to the complications.

Sir Rogers
