BUG? Science Stockpiles not working?

In my game as the cultists I activated a science stockpile I got via the Destructive Analysis tech. It doesn't seem to have any effect on my science output. I have the save file below with one science stockpile available for activation. I could be wrong but it doesn't appear to have any effect on my science output.

I'm noticing that as I get more Science Stockpiles from Destructive Analysis further in the game, none of them are working. It appears to be some sort of bug. Below is a save where I have 8 Science Stockpiles and they don't work.

Hello EdwardFalcon,

I just took your save and got no issue.

Your science production is at 932 in your main city.

I used in save Turn 137 your only stockpile of science and got in the research screen an empire output per turn at 957.

932+25=957 > Seems to work for me. Screenshot below.

Could your confirm that behavior (or not) on your side?

Hi Pikou,

That's SO strange. It still doesn't work for me and I don't understand why. Something weird happens as well when I select the science stockpile (I'll show you below). It doesn't let me choose which city to apply it to. My industry stockpiles let me do that and they end up working just fine but for some reason my science stockpiles don't work.

This is what my screen looks like before selecting the science or industry stockpile

This is what my screen looks like after selecting an industry stockpile (I can choose which city to apply it too). These stockpiles work for me.

After Selecting my science stockpile I get this screen however. I don't get to choose a city and it doesn't end up working when I click "Yes"

Ok I think there might be a small misunderstanding here.

Industry production is stocked at a city level because it applies on a specific construction queue. > which is why you choose a city.

Science production is stocked at an empire level because it applies on science research which is outside the city system (even if science is provided by cities). > which is why you will see the result in the research screen (see my previous screenshot).

Also, don't forget that the effect is immediate but applies at the end of turn.

Everything will go back to normal numbers at the beginning of next turn.

OOOOOH!!! I see! I was looking at the city screen to see if my science values increased there. That's where I normally check my outputs. Thank you so much for clearing that up for me.

Hello,

I am also a little confused how stockpiles work. In my game as the Cultist I got 8 Industry Stockpiles from razing a city. That's worth 200 Industry points. My city produces 198 Industry per turn and started building a Dust Refinery for the cost of 402 Industry. Thus, it takes 3 turns to complete. Spending all my 8 Industry Stockpiles should save me one turn, correct? However, when I spend my Stockpiles the "yellow bar" showing the production progress in the city screen does not change. At the beginning of next turn, the Dust Refinery still takes 2 turns to complete instead of the expected 1. Do I have to research Unskilled Labor first to use Stockpiles? See attached save, with Guardian and Shadows expansion (I already spent one Stockpile, leaving me with 7 in the save.)

Thanks in advance!

You can only benefit from one stockpile of any type per turn. Using additional stockpiles boosts the length of the effect, not the amount of the effect. So if you use 8 Industry stockpiles, you'll get +25 Industry for the next 8 turns.

Ah, thank you! It would be nice if this is displayed in the game somewhere...

Edit: I just saw that this is displayed when you mouse over the word "Stockpiles" on the Empire Management Screen.

Hi there I have found that neither my science nor industry stockpiles have any effect on my current game as the Cultists. Note I reverted back to a save game on turn 112 and found that the industry stockpile WAS correctly adding 25 industry to my city for one turn when selected.

EDIT: Actually I think the stockpile values were applied, it's just that they've been queued up for several turns and the UI is as user friendly as it could be in identifying which individual modifiers have been applied to your empire's science output (not as far as I can see anyway). Sorry for n00bing it up!
