I had this problem as well. It turns out the solution is that, even if your touchpad is set to user the left and right side as different clicks, you have to use the double-finger click to make the right click action work.

I think they sincerely meant to help you and didn't mean to sound condescending or anything. We use the forum to help our players with their issues, so it would be great if you could provide your save or log files as suggested here. Also, just a suggestion, as Ionut suggested, if it's an issue with your mouse, do you happen to have another mouse (regular, with left and right click) you could test the game with? what i don't know is how to contact someone who can actually help me with this issue, or how to get my money back. does no one know?

Normally when a unit is deselected it means you "left clicked". And seeing as both of you use a Mac, you are probably using a "magic-mouse" or a trackpad. Can you try right clicking as indicated in the tutorial screen to move your units.

nah that's not it. i can't move any unit, including armies, settlers, etc. whether they're in a city or not. is there any way i can contact a troubleshooting team/is there some helpline or anything for this game? or a way to get money back?

You need to create a new army if a unit is garrisoned in a city. You can't move garrisoned units without making an army out of them first. The icon for it is in the actions bar if I remember correctly (bottom left of screen). It took me a while to figure this out as well. I hope this helps.

i can't move them at all, i can click on them but that's all. there isn't an arrow/movement thing that comes up at all, and i've tried ending turn etc, it's not that they're out of movement points. confusing! i also have a macbook air, it's mid 2012.

I'm a new player, working through the tutorial and I can't move my units. I talked to my brother, who recommended the game and he tried to talk me through it, but the things that were supposed to move my units did nothing. I select the units and click, right-click, left-click, shift-right-click, etc., and nothing happens. I go to the unit screen and any click leads to deselection.



I was annoyed enough to request my money back from Steam (who wouldn't give it to me). I thought updating the Mono framework might help, so I did that, but I still can't make the units in my city go anyplace. Because of the lengthy conversation with my brother, I don't think I'm doing something wrong—I did the things he does and that work for him, but the units didn't go anyplace.



I'm playing on a 2011 13" MacBook Air, running the latest build of OS X.

I don't know if I played another faction when I tried the normal game. I picked a faction at random, just to test if the problem was something related to the tutorial. But in the normal game, i wasn't able to move my unit either.

Did you try to play a normal game with another faction to see if the first unit is also blocked?

I've tried starting a new tutorial game four times, and tried a non-tutorial game once. In all cases, I was unable to move marines, no matter what I did.



I appreciate your attempts to solve this, but my frustration at spending 15-20 minutes getting a game started only to have the same problem has spoiled my will to play again until I have a more concrete problem-solving step.

Well, I've opened the game you provided and, yes, the tutorial is appearing a little strange to me: maybe this is a tutorial bug? Have you tried starting a normal game?

For me the tutorial window appeared almost at the center of my screen (ugh)... But I was able to move the unit... I suggest you try saving and reloading the game...

The issue is a problem every time I try to play the game, which has been five times now: four attempts at the tutorial, and once with a regular game. In all cases, I can move my settler, but once I build marines, I can't move them. I select them, and if I click anyplace else, they're deflected. I don't really know how to describe this problem better, since I haven't been able to make them move. I did talk to my brother while playing and he told me the steps, which didn't work.





As far as I can tell, the screenshot function doesn't work, either. This might be a Steam problem—I have no screenshots in my online library (but wouldn't want them there—why so much enforced sharing?). So this is a screenshot taken from the Finder. But, unlike when I moved the settlers, no little arrow path appears when I hover over a hex. When I click, the selected units are deselected.



At this point, I'm frustrated with the game enough that I don't even want to open it to troubleshoot it

Hi, a quick question, where are you trying to move the units? Is it in combat? Or is it at army level, in the map? There is a situation that happened to me, only once, couldn't ever repeat it, very rare, where the units doesn't enter the combat board for deployed, and since there is a combat in a move. By the way, It was in the same situation as you, just experimenting the game for the first time .



Is the issue repeatable ? If you enter tutorial again, the issue still happen? Would you plase take a screenshot, and maybe a savegame, and attach it for us to see?



Another thing: is anything else in the game clickable? Can you hit and click something at the menu? At some operating systems ( and I'm thinking linux here: I know it isn't your operating system , but I don't have a Macbook Air... ) sometimes windows and processes can steal the focus from what appear to be the active window: eventually, maybe that your case?

One thing I really love about Amplitude Studios is how attemptive they are to the customers at this forum, but In your case it's very difficult to help because you aren't giving sufficiently detailed information...
