Frustrating: Slow Down

Okay, I think this is probably something I'm not alone in. I lowered some of the video settings to improve performance many games ago. In my current game, I hit turn 200 and my game slowed down, so much so that it feels like I'm playing on a much older machine.

We need a comprehensive list that explains in detail EVERY. SINGLE. SETTING. in the video and advanced video option and how each setting affects game speed.

There is also a memory leak in there somewhere that needs to be found. I know some people have issues while others don't.

This game needs some serious graphic optimization, seriously!!! <----- Very important, so I will use serious again.

Maybe also a way to turn off some features in late game like the winter graphics (I saw a thread for someone asking for this).

Please...

Thanks for reading. Anyone that feels the same, should chime in.

Who ever moved this.. no thank you.

Now this will be ignored and never looked at. Please move it back to the main forum. Amplitude doesn't have a good bug reporting system and these threads mostly get ignored.

I noticed it as well... game ran fine till very late game, where I started to notice slow-downs. I assumed it was just the shear number of number-crunching/AI-crunching occurring...

Btw Nasarog, consider using "endless" instead of "serious"... smiley: smile

Frankly, that's horses**t. This section of the forum is the most closely watched and Amplitude promptly reviews most technical issues.

If the purpose here was to request features ("turn off winter graphics"), go post in that thread. If the purpose is to report an issue, maybe you can post in the other thread you created -> /#/endless-legend/forum/23-mac-os/thread/6567-weak-mac-performance...

Homeslice, chill out... before you run to get your soap box, you'll notice, that I didn't create that thread, unless somehow you attribute my posts to multiple accounts.. nice re-edit by the way.

Oh yea..

very closely watched...

/#/endless-legend/forum/23-mac-os/thread/6549-graphics-issue

/#/endless-legend/forum/13-tech-support/thread/4140-main-quest-bugs

and promptly reviewed....

Good looking out!

Hey prop, here's one more that never even got a mention

/#/endless-legend/forum/23-mac-os/thread/6549-graphics-issue

Now, my save has disappeared again. The one I played from earlier is missing. This is annoying.

Every time my game crashes now, the saved games disappear, and I have to go back to an autosave, replay a bunch of turns and each time I do that, my game gets slower and slower.

Hi Nasarog,

The Mac computers that we (or our QA partner) use for internal tests run the game without issues. So, it is difficult for us to make progress and find a solution, for instance, for the Esc menu issue. But I can assure you we are working on this. That is why we need your help.

Regarding your slow down issue, could you provide us with your player log and a save file, as stated here: /#/endless-legend/forum/23-mac-os/thread/6658-reporting-an-issue-mac-version

And please could you try not to mix the topics, it makes more difficult to follow the threads. The issue with the "ZipException" code is already covered here: /#/endless-legend/forum/23-mac-os/thread/6589-mac-v1-0-0-s3-32-bit-save-fails-zipexception-cannot-find-central-directory

Okay, i'll break it down for you.

I'm going to start a new game, and i'll document all that happens there. The various crashes and lock ups etc. I have a temporary file folder full of "stuff". Should i delete everything there?

here's an example from last nights game: a diagnostic file

the red text -

22:46:19:525STACKException caught. ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipException: Cannot find central directory at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipFile.ReadEntries () [0x00000] in :0 at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipFile..ctor (System.IO.FileStream file) [0x00000] in :0 at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipFile.ReadEntries () [0x00000] in :0 at ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.Zip.ZipFile..ctor (System.IO.FileStream file) [0x00000] in :0 ----------

the warning afterwards in orange -

22:46:31:611STACKTimeout! The AI scheduler is taking too long allowing for the turn to end... aborting!

22:46:31:611STACKTimeout: Tickables NeedTick: AICommanderMission_Pacification,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

22:46:31:611STACKAI elapsedTime - 5.00417 seconds

Lots of warnings in orange, and a few more in red. Is that what you're asking for?
