I'm guessing this is how you want issue reports, but it would be helpful to have something like "To submit an issue report, create a new thread" or something like that at the start of http://forums.amplitude-studios.com/announcement.php?f=47. Some of us have so far experienced "It just works" with all our game purchases through Steam (including your market of "If you like Civ5..." customers) and this 'go to a forum' thing is unfamiliar.

Issue: Endless Legend via Steam on Mac OS Yosemite 10.10.1 does not work on a second monitor, won't run in windowed mode and runs verrrry slow on MacBook display.

New purchase via Steam. Was prompted to install Mono Framework (which was an experience unlike other games I've gotten; bit weird to have to deal with all those oh-so-Windowsy dialogs), seemed to install fine. Ran into display problems. Tried different settings, both fullscreen and not. Tried removing and reinstalling Mono Framework per your troubleshooting suggestions. Did not help. Tried removing Endless Legend entirely and reinstalling from scratch via Steam. Did not help. Only way I was finally able to play a little was on my little laptop screen in fullscreen mode with all other programs turned off, and even then it was slow and fiddly.

Specs:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) on latest OS

2.6 GHz Intel Core i5

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Built-in Display 13.3-inch (2560 x 1600) + MPLE27QPM Display 27-inch (2560 x 1440) Intel Iris 1536 MB

Version: v1.0.01 S3 (32-BIT)

Series of problems experienced on first attempts to play (across various attempted settings) including:

1. Game wouldn't run on external monitor. Screen black.

2. Game would only sorta run on external monitor except that bottom part of window (perhaps matching the pixel height of the Mac's own toolbar?) hung down below that window, which is pretty darn useless for a game with anchored tool palettes along the bottom edge.

3. Game was very slow and fiddly on built-in display.

I'm guessing, after not finding output_log.txt, that Player.log is the equivalent for Mac users? You might want to improve those instructions; even just a "Mac users see below" to save a lot of floundering around would help.

Player.log.zip

Thank you for your assistance. I'm pretty frustrated by spending $35 and getting something that I can only barely play.

Hello,

First of all, thanks a lot for the detailed information provided along with the attached files.

Considering what is written in your player.log, it seems that the game runs with an Iris Pro Integrated GPU. It might be linked to the use of the second monitor.

But you should have at disposal on your MacBook pro an other graphic card, Nvidia or AMD.

Best will be to test the game forcing the use of this graphic card. gfxCardStatus is an open source software that could be used for this kind of purpose.

Also, do not hesitate to unplug the second monitor in order to see if there is any difference in terms of performances too.

Thanks in advance for the help.
