Issue:

I experience recurring graphic glitches, artifacts and freezes while playing.

At the beginning I could not pressing the "esc" button to open the menu to save the game without literally screwing up the map, making the game unplayable.

In an effort to solve this I upgraded Mono framework to version 4.2.1.102 and I must say things got a bit better: i do not experience the same problem on a 100% basis when pressing the "esc" key, but nevertheless after some turns the glitches/artifacts and screen freezes still appear.

I was not able to find a specific relation between them and my gameplay: sometime they are "triggered" by a unit attack in the combat mode: in the save game I upload, when I attack with the necrofage unit that spreads the disease the graphics freeze, music keeps on playing, and I am forced to restart the mac.

In other cases/games the same unit and attack do not provoke any glitch when used, but the graphic issues appear randomly during battles or between a turn and the other, or when opening a specific game menu... or even zooming in/out the map.



I am playing with top graphic settings, but I also tried to change to lower ones without being able to getting rid of the problem...

I run the game through Steam (all purchasable add ons and DLC are installed), I have already checked for the files integrity, and as you asked I just redeemed my cd-key on the amplitude site.

Guys, seriously, I don't want start ♥♥♥♥♥ing around... but do someone of the tech support at least read this thread?

You should update game to V1.3.5. It will fix several issues with Intel HD Graphics.

and try 64bit version.

I don't have mac pc, my pc is win8.1 so I can not any more advices.

Thank for the hint... I gave up playing the game in the mean time so I did not realize that a patch had came out.



But how can I instal the 64 bit version? I don't know why Steam installed the 32bit one, but it did it automatically...

From my experience, "graphic glitches, artifacts" are usually a driver problem (assuming, of course, that the hardware works properly).

For Macs, I think the drivers are bundled in the OS itself, so you cannot update them separately.

Do you experience any issues with other games ? Does V1.3.5 behave any better than V1.3.0 ?

You can always check for new versions of your drivers by doing the following:







* Click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner

* Select "App Store..."

* Choose "Updates" from the icon bar.

Did you find a fix? I've been having the same problem for a good while now makes it difficult to get a good game in. I have the same laptop as you too. using the 32 bit version of the game too
