Pangea, open water is so lackluster without naval combat or blockade.

World wrap on, gotta have as many pathing options as possible.

Sometimes I turn off internal seas.

Ridges and Cliffs set to few; I really like this option.

Before its implementation I often had the problem occur of cliffs splitting regions almost entirely in two and staggered cliffs severely limiting pathing choices.

It was too easy to plop down a city with two or less routes leading in to it and then block those routes with armies.

Do you guys like world wrap on or off mostly?

Chaotic or Hex?

What % of water or land do you prefer?

I see most prefer large maps

Is that because you like longer games or fighting with your units ie leveling up teirs before engaging?

What do you currently set minor faction vs majior faction difficulty?

World wrap: On, always on.

Hex, never tried chaotic and don't know what it does yet.

Right now normal or minimal water.

I prefer large maps because I play with 6 opponents, anything smaller with 6 factions and it gets crowded fast. 4 opponents for normal maps.

I always have my minor/major difficulty settings on Hard.

I played a game as the Mayans "hits home," and really enjoyed it. I've just been busy with other affairs and EL lol.

I enjoy smaller maps with a lot of interaction. I usually play "multiplayer" settings even if I'm playing solo...

- Fast Speed

- Small Pangaea (with wrap)

- Size never larger than recommended for number of players

- Everything else normal

I don't like island/continent maps at all because you pretty much guarantee isolation until Age 3.

Simple and clean as the title asks whats your favorite game settings/type currently

Island maps

Pangea

2 Continents

And all the inbetween

Pangea with no inland sea is a very good map type to start with (6) player many rivers large lakes the rest normal

and around 3 to 4 AI

Also very good for Multi maps (quick game)

Also

favorite faction currently of course, and favorite anomalies

Wild Walkers Life/World Tree of course smiley: smile

I have to agree with Nasarog: Without any kind of naval engagement, even if it were always automated, oceans feel more like a waste of space rather than a game element to handle. Thus, I usually play on Pangea maps or maps without ocean, though sometimes also on 2 continents.

I love just setting everything to random and facing that challenge (even my faction) Roll a 10 sided dice for the amount of players (ignoring 1, 9, 10) and anything that cant be set to random is set to normal.

Random counts a a favorite map choice right? smiley: biggrin

i Like 2-3 continents, chaotic/disturbed and as big as possible.

As for my favorite civs and anomalies that's tougher.. I like the Roving Clans normally but I just started working on the Broken Lords and I really like them already as well. And the other stuff I'm a big fan of the Dragon Tree and Wizard Stones smiley: smile
