What do you think is the best faction for a beginner to play as? I'm an experienced Endless Space and other 4X games player, but I just bought Endless Legend today. I've just finished the tutorial and I'm looking forward to playing my first game.

All of them have their perks. If you want a more diplomatic-ish startup then go Drakken or Roving Clans as they both have perks in those areas. Vaulters, to me, have a really balanced feel overall (science focus, but with stuff like the deep generator they can get across the board bonuses).

I'd recommend the Wild Walkers. They are very straight forward to play and their advantages are in the basic stuff.

I'd recommend playing on Normal as that's the pace the game is set for. You'll still have plenty of time. Disable the "Score Victory" if a winner being declared on turn 300 is an issue for you.

Wild walkers have been mentioned among the VIP as the "easiest" race to play, but IMO vaulters are the go to faction for the beginner, their faction traits aren't as situational s the wild walkers, and their holy resource is a big help early game if you settle in a region with titanium or glassteel.



I also agree playing on normal speed for the first time is your best bet. Good luck and have fun!

Since the subject has been mentionned, I wanted to ask : Have you tried Slow or Endless game speed ? Is it easier, harder ? I don't really see the difference it could make...

If it is similar to Civ V, it increase time needed for everything except units move, allowing you to stay more time in the same era and spend more time being a massiv murderer and kill poor creatures.
