Alerts for enemy units?

Just started putting some proper time into this game, and really loving it so far.

I have one question on a larger map I'm playing - I'm rolling with the Necrophages as is my wont, and practically my first action was to declare war on one of the two dragon lords who share this map to get some attack bonus.

180 turns in and still haven't found their base, however around 120 turns in a group of them showed up and sieged my capital.

The thing is - to reach that they would have had to travel through approx 4-5 cities worth of terrain, and in all that time I didn't once lay sight on them - it wasn't until the "Your city is under siege" notification popped up that I even knew they were on their way!

So - my question : are there any alerts for when enemy armies enter/cross your territory that I have missed, or do I have to visually scan for them each turn?

Sub-question : if I set a unit to "Sleep" will they awake when they see an enemy? Would rather have auto-sentries than have to zoom out and peer at the map each turn....

Thanks

Hyms

That would be a nice feature, but no such thing exists at the moment.

I've been missing a feature like this too. The situation you describe happens all too often. Surely I shouldn't have to manually examine every patch of border every turn, don't I have peasants to do that kind of thing? ^^

That said, it wouldn't necessarily help against others who play like me... sometimes I end up with armies that gain 16-18 movement points every turn. In which case you can be pretty much anywhere in someones empire the same turn you cross their borders.
