Hi everyone, i have a lots of advanced questions to asks, thanks in advance for yours answers:

1) If i build an extractor or a surveillance tower and then, i build a city quarter on this, do i lost the ressource/Tower?

2) How the approvals malus counts the city expansion? For example, i build two Settlers and send them to have 2 cities: i got -20 approvals for all the game? In a limited time? What happens in this last one if i build again a new city, does this reset the counts?

3)Reinforcement:
a) What happens exactly if i ahve a hero who got the ability : add one position renforcement. In a fight, it means i have 3 units (two basiquely and one by this ability) per turn which appear?
b) Reinforcements Units pop always in behind my armies. One times, i put my archer in this extreme position in Deployment phase and it block reinforcement. Which position i have to not put unities to block reinforcement
c) if i got two heroes in a battle who haves armies bonus, does these bonus are cumules? for all my armies? What happens if it is the same bonus like attack bonus, does it counts twice?

4) I am doing a game which i am in war against necrophages, how do i protect my armies against the poison?

5) In diplomacy, if i propose a trade or a technology agreement, did the IA partner got the bonus?

I need just a confirmation about this next question:

6) Equipement heores: if i got one hero with the ability attack bonus lvl 2 and i gives him an equipment whith the ability attack bonus lvl 2, it doesn't stack?

1) If you got the extractor tech and you build a district on that place, you get the extractor for free. So if you build a district on existing watchtower/extractor, it should still work.

3a) Yes, three flags for reinforcements. Max. up to four flags

3b) You have to keep clear the flag fields for your reinforcements at the end of a combat round (and if possible block the enemy flag fields).

3c) Every bonus ends at +3. And - what I understood - the bonus the hero gives, is limited to the army he leads.

4) You can equip special items to your unit to prevent poison/disease (if I remember right). Some units (minors?) have natural resistance. And perhaps special heros give immunity to all units in that army. Not sure about.

5) Both sides should profit from, yeah.

6) look 3c)

Only minor village boni stack up to 5.

2) You'll get -10x smiley: approval per each city you have (excluding capitals) empire-wide for as long as you own those cities. On top of that, each city have smiley: approval tile bonus in count, and when you have bad tiles' placement with lots of level 1 districts in city, this city-wide bonus will be negative. In general, level 2 tiles generate positive smiley: approval bonus to the city, while level 1 generate twice as strong negative smiley: approval bonus. So you'll have to plan that ahead when you expanding your cities/empire.

Thanks a lot for your help. I understand better the mechanic of this game. I have some others questions if it doesn't bother you:

a)When my empire is happy, i got +20% of Food, 20% of production and 20% of security. What is this last parameter?

b)When i build road on all my city of my empire, they produce automaticly dust and science. How is it calculated and how i can improve them?

c)How does work attack and defense in this game? I thought that if attack is more important to the defense, i have more chances to hit the enemy and the domage are randomly in a fourch (For example if i have 99999999999 or 199 again a unit which have 150 def, it will not impact the damage of the enemy unity receive). But when i read some guide, i found there is a link between attack, def, damaged.

d) I am playing the faction ardent mage, where i can change the spell which i can launch each time of the beginning battle?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

a) This is part of espionage mechanic in Shadows DLC
Steph'nie wrote:
City Security

  • Spies always succeed in performing their Infiltration Actions. Their action may have consequences though, depending on the Security level of the City they have infiltrated.
  • The higher the Security is, the higher the odds that the Spy will be Wounded (-50% of Max Life), Disabled or even Captured.
  • Only if your Spy is captured, disabled or wounded is the targeted empire notified or their presence in a cities and so may well launch a roundup (see more below).
  • In general, if your spy remains unnoticed, the targeted empire is also notified but are not told where the Spy is or who sent it.
  • In most cases a low security means a higher chance that your Spy will remain unscathed and, ideally, unnoticed.

b) Short answer: the actual income depends on trade route length, and those routes are created automatically in a way to maximize any possible income with a given amount of city trade route capacity (2 for capital, 1 for simple city by default). To view a route, zoom out the map as far as possible and click on your city.

You can boost that income by making peace with nearby empires, negotiating commercial and research agreements; boost trade income or increase trade route slots for cities via particular research unlocks, activating luxury resources, making empire plan or assigning heroes with special abilities as city governors etc.

Long answer.

c) Attack stat of your unit combined with defense stat of enemy unit (and vise versa) define the chance of that unit's attack to hit the target, to make a critical hit, to be partially blocked or missed completely. If attack is higher then opposing defense value, chances are higher for it to be successful. And when defense is higher - chances are higher for attack to be blocked.

Not sure of on how updated this graph is, but it gives an idea.

d) Once you've casted Incantation, all available incantations go on a cooldown for one combat turn. So you can cast up to 3 Incantations during a single battle. Every incantation and their power levels are unlocked via corresponding Arcana technology of research screen.

May I say, that due to Ardent mages' reliance on arcana pillars, dust magics and other unique mechanics, they aren't the easiest faction to learn the game with smiley: roll
