Broken Lords conolization quest: How to progress?

I am at the point in Broken Lord quest when I need to colonize new region.

Since I play in crowded map on serious difficulty, there are no uncolonized regions remaining in the game.

So, how to progress the quest in this case?

Hmmm ... conquer, salt the earth and re-colonize ? Though it'll take a lot of time ...

It's probably gonna have to be one or the other.

Unless there is a small island somewhere that hasn't been colonized that you could settle on? :)

Nope, everything is colonized. On Serious difficulty AI is pretty aggressive in colonization. And this is standard default pangea map with 6 players.

I was boxed to 4 territories for majority of the game, until I got strong enough for conquest.

Then I'd suggest conquest/raze as icarus suggested.
