What do you think of the faction designs?

I personally think they're awesome. My favourites would be the Cultists, Allayi, and Broken Lords. Given how a lot of fantasy strategy often stick to the same old humans/elves/orcs/undead/etc, it's great to see something new and innovative.

Oh Endless Legend is unique in that.

Each faction is exquisitely weird and amazing, and each has its own creative style and look and feel. Add to that the soundtrack for each faction, and you end up with a game with 10-11 factions that you can't classify in order of preference, because of how much you like all of them.

Their faction design is really second to none in terms of uniqueness.

Essentially 11 different playstyles. One for each faction. That's pretty amazing.

Amplitude has done a very good job of diversifying their factions and making them unique, especially compared to other 4x games. That's probably their biggest advantage over other games, in my regard. The most generic factions (to me) are the Walkers and the Vaulters. The Walkers because they're 'builder elves', they seem to represent pretty standard 4x gameplay, and unfortunately don't exploit the Wild part of their nature in the gameplay very well. The Vaulters are made more unique with the Holy Resource idea and their kick-ass faction concept, but their gameplay doesn't represent a radical deviation from the norm as something like the Cultists or Broken Lords do.

Still, literally every faction in EL is just bursting with flavor and unique gameplay. They started at a higher level than other 4x games and have only improved - the Forgotten and the Allayi, and soon the Morgawr are all very much their own faction, even though the Forgotten, Roving Clans and Broken Lords share a Dust preference, and the Drakken and Morgawr seem to be about the Influence.

So yeah. Cheerleader post I guess. Keep up the good work, Amplitude!

Yeah, i do like the uniqueness of the races, even the minor races got slices of the uniques, hey, you don't see two-headed hyenas with crossbows in some rando fantasy game, right ? Or seeing bloody demons, with freaking devil wings and horns, but are instead proto broken lords (its just a headcanon of mines, that the demon guys are an offshoot of the broken lords) or the eyeless, which look like bloody xenomorph toned down, and I thought they were infantry when I first met them. Yeah, there are too the standard guys, like orcs, dwarfs, ogres and elemental golems, and those at least have some twists on they part.

If we are on the topic of faction design, whose factions cities would you guys live in? I would choose: Drakken, kinda a sucker for their architecture and black and gold color scheme, but living there as a normal human, i dont know, seeying them having more vertical buildings then horizontal, could make me height scared, but the buildings still look nice.
Ardent mages, a mix of middle eastern and Japanese feel exotic enough to live as a tourist, but the anmass of crystal towers and slight whiff of slave trade can scare off certain people.
Thought, the architecture of the vaulters doesn't look bad but imagining half of the damm city being underground, kinda makes me feel like a mole.
The wild walker cities doesnt look bad, but the an mass of green and tan makes me feel kinda sick, i dont know why.
Cultist main city doesnt look bad, but the many masks and the towers and houses facing the center would feel like travelling trought illuminoes city out of pokemon X and Y, with being an endless circle.

If I have to pick one, I would go with either Vaulters, Wild Walkers, or the Broken Lords. Their cities look very interesting and I would like to see how their architecture works.

Well, the broken lords do have nice cities, but arent they mostly just gold filled with blue glow everywhere ? Would kinda suck your eyes off, if you arent organic. By the way, how the hell get the broken lords they gold color from ? Mined gold from the depths of auriga, or the dust infusion made all their stuff gold colored ?

Definitely a Roving Clans city, as my avatar might suggest. Not only are they quite pretty (in the artwork as much has the ingame model), but they built on top of giant turtles that can walk across large distances! You never have to stay put anywhere for long. Plus, the Rovers are affluent and pacifistic, so you are more likely to live well and much less likely to get into trouble with them than anywhere else.

Roving clans never interested me, their design might look nice, but it feels quite boring in my eyes, yeah the concept of walking cities is nice, but imagine a mega hex city jut out of nothing going into an unit and moving out of the regions, kinda breaks my immersion if i am honest.

Cultist and Allayi are certainly the ones I found to be the most unique and weird in terms of design, that I agree.

I actually enjoy all of the faction designs to be honest. If i had to nitpick, I would probably choose the Wild Walkers has the least favourite, simply because they remind me too much of the Twilek from Star Wars.
