Just a question about the EL expansion Tempest and the new faction, the Morgawr

I am interested to know if the name Morgawr was taken from the legendary Cornish sea monster of the same name? In Cornish, Morgawr means 'sea giant' and seems to fit the theme of some of the released mock ups of the expansion that I have seen.

Being Cornish, this just tickled my curiosity. Does anyone here happen to know?

Hey!

Yes, I'm pretty sure Slowhands (our Narrative Director) mentioned this before. This was the inspiration for the faction name.

As a person with an interest in languages and linguistics, I am very happy to have an actual Cornish person to ask: How is that name pronounced?

That's fantastic! Love to see one of the cryptids from home being used as inspiration for something in media that reaches round the world!  Cheered me up no end :)

Morgawr or Morgowr, depending on the dialect, is pronounced 'more gower' Gower as in tower or power.

That was the one question that made me the most nervous on the forums  :)

I always pronounced it more or less "more-g'ahrrrr" -- pirate-style. I hope I don't offend too many Cornish ears in the Focus video...

Just don't take any vacation in Cornwall any time soon. They might feed you to the cryptids.
