Maybe. I hope they add more heroes, weapons, quests, music and quests, oh wait, I said that already, how about... more QUESTS. Yea, there is is.

If we had one more expansion, I wish we'd get a few more hero portraits (especially faction heroes, each major faction has 2-3 heroes using the same portrait). I'd love to see a few more minor faction heroes as well, maybe adding a cavalry class hero for Gaurans and Bos. Other than that, I quite like the suggestions in this thread !

I hope they balance Morgawr and un-nerf my precious Cultists before any new content.

I love Endless Legend and any new content is well received. But the game has a problem that is not going to solve with new DLCs, the AI. I am aware that the AI was improved over time but still insufficient, I even pay for a good IA improvement patch like a complete expansion. But that will not happen.

So if that problem will continue unresolved in my opinion the best thing that can happen is that Tempest is the last expansion and they move to work in Endless Legend 2 at some point.

Or maybe we should take a brake and after year or two get new, totally improved EL2?

Well, if Tempest is the final expansion for EL, they've done a bang-up job and should be proud of themselves. But presuming that they will develop more content for the game, I'll add a few things to the wishlist here:

* Diversify the Quest Victories for each faction. Currently they're just different ways of reaching a Wonder Victory, and while WV's aren't bad, they do seem less imaginative than Amplitude has proven themselves in their games. It might not be worth it for them to utilize (potentially limited) creativity on unique endgames for each faction, but it sure would be awesome.

* Add more quests in general, including exploration quests (like the one where you fight a Kazanji to get a cool sword) and Minor Faction quests. And... balance out the rewards for the MF quests? Some of them, I think, aren't as desirable as others, which does have an impact on assimilation choice in a way that seems negative to me.

* New weather conditions for land as well, as other people have said upthread, seems like a cool idea. Make them more vicious and arcane as the game progresses, reflecting the increasing threat of the unnatural disaster that's destroying Auriga.

* A global diplomacy system, perhaps something that encourages factions to work together (giving them economic benefits for this cooperation) but also allows member factions to spend influence to enact laws that will affect the entire group.

* Religion! The only religion stuff that pops up is that +4 I on Anomalies event, and whatever shows up in faction questlines. It would be cool to have a religious system like, say, Civ5 does it.

* Something totally new that hasn't been done before, perhaps relating to the nature of Auriga, the Endless presence in the system, or some type of new, outside presence or threat.

* Shameless plug for a faction idea: another Influence-based faction that a) interacts differently with their Empire Plans (a very changeable and fluid society that restructures itself constantly to adapt to threats, environmental conditions or to prepare for the future - gaining a one-time bonus each time they adopt an Empire Plan level for the first time; or gaining bonuses for not repeating the same EP choices as they did in the previous Plan; etc) and b) can use Influence to restrict, supress, or force-change enemy Empire Plans.

Absolutely love these suggestions!

While EL is my favorite 4x... I do wonder what EL 2 will bring? I welcome more DLC though, one of the few games I've bought all of them.

I agree with Knight...

Perhaps add more, say, quests, a major faction or two, additional minors, additional heroes...

Seeing how the main sentence on this forum goes, specifically: "Can you save Auriga...

I would suggest a new victory condition: "Saving Auriga" - This would practically end the winter cycle and bring everlasting sommer again... for a while at least. Meaning, that if the player wins via this condition, and continues to play, it will be only summer :)

The new victory condition could come with additional difficulty to the winter cycle which can expand to a late-game crysis e.g.: Ice creatures that can only pup-up in winter and thus the likelyhood of them becoming a problem increases with each turn.

Relevant new faction could be tied to the lore of how to stop this winter cycle: A remnant species created by the Endless to "Controll" the planet. Their traits would enable them to adjust perfectly to any terrain or weatheer condition + great science affinity, but they would boost poor fighters.

Hey there is Tempest the last expansion as they ramp up on Endless Space 2? I thought I heard there might be one more small dlc after this that would be the final one. Even though I don't get a lot of time to play the game much every expansion I come back and play for a few hours to check all the cool stuff out and I enjoy that feeling of exploration this 4x does so well.

I think a cool expansion would be random events and ground based weather systems sort of like how there are seas ones in the ocean. I would also like to see cooler and stranger whether. Auriga is an odd planet with strange machines and technology from the past it would be cool to see such things as oily rain, nanite storms (called something thematic like the Iron Wind in Numenera), and more typical whether. The new faction for the expansion would get different bonuses based on the weather around them and would manipulate the weather to give bonuses to themselves or hinder enemy factions.

If this is the final expansion all I can say is thanks for all the awesome memories also looking forward to Endless Space 2.

Age of Wonders 3 did that. Pretty good as I might say.

I never had any doubt they would make an Endless Legend 2, but I want one last expansion that adds something that wasn't simply lacking from the get go. Something completely new and a big bang. I would even be willing to pay for a larger expansion for one last big bang of content. Anyways I've said my opinion now I'm starting to repeat myself. Good to see such a dedicated group of players for this game though.

Don't forget that Amplitude is a company and the goal of a company and the Capital is to make money.

So, if Tempest works super well and is sold to a high number of persons, the chiefs may decide to make another expansion or, in one year or more, Endless Legend 2.

But not if Tempest is a failure.

As they produced three expansions for Endless Legend, it means the selling result were good enough, so I wish we can be optimitic for an Endless Legend 2 in the future.

Ooo a cool religion mechanic would be a great addition.

That's not what I mean. There are certainly lots of new mechanics they could add. But the game has to be finished at some point, and this seems like a good place to stop.

That would be an interesting idea, though refining the diplomacy system might be another good option. I would also like the Mezari fleshed out a little into their own faction, maybe even get their own faction quest. However, I very much doubt we will be seeing any further major updates to the game. I don't think they are strictly necessary either, since everything of significance that was lacking has been covered already.

I would think about the environmental changes of Auriga. I'd like the environment to change and affect certain regions, to force a change in the gameplay and thus in your strategy. Earthquakes, rains of "Bad" dust, maybe a flood here and there.

Many quests speak about "earthquakes and fires from the sky" but apart from winter there is little to add urgency to the endgame. And winters feel only as a annoyance that ranges from light to severe, and can be mitigated with pearls anyway. I've never felt that Auriga was dying.

Yeah, religion would tie nicely into this, like an apocalyptic cult or something....

wait...

Don't we have Cultists already? ;)

Expansions are usually motivated out of a need or a means of introducing new gameplay mechanics to help fill out what's not currently there.
Guardians introduced Wonders.
Shadows introduced an espionage mechanic.
Shifters refined the winter mechanic and now Tempest is adding in further refinements to the games oceans.
Any other expansion to Endless Legend would have to introduce a mechanic that either isn't present in EL or is very barebones.

Frankly the only thing that personally comes to mind is religious stuff.

I hope there is another one after Tempest... after all they can't just quit with 11 factions. There is still 1 slot for a 12th one! ;)
