hello everyone, im playing the allayi and in my first battle.  All of a sudden I see negative morale on my skyfin unit.  Any idea what causes this?  I haven't noticed it on my previous playthrough with the vaulters and cannot find anything on line when searching.

thanks

Support and range units lost moral when there are enemy around of them.

Some water tiles in the new tempest expansion will also cause moral loss in sea battles i believe. Pretty sure it is just the rain tile ones.

Since the Skyfin is a ranged support, any adjacent enemy will reduce its moral by 1.

Melee, cavalry, and flying units and heroes don't lose moral because of adjacent units. In fact the ways to reduce their morale are limited to:

1. If they are adjacent to a unit equipped with a specific item that I believe was made of Mithrite that gives them the "fearsome" trait IIRC.

2. If they are attacked by a Skyfin in winter mode.

3. If your empire got hit by the moral reducing infiltration action.

4. Some winter effects can cause a moral reduction.

5. As was mentioned, in Tempest if a unit ends / starts a turn in a rain tile they will suffer -3 moral.

Moral is quite an important variable in the game. Although the means to reduce it are limited for most units, once it is reduced the impact is significant and can turn the tide.
