I've been trying to get the game seeds to work. I create a random game and write down the ten digit seed number. I then exit and start a new game where I change the advanced setting "World Generation Seed" to 'user' and type the seed number into seed value box. Then, without changing anything, I create the game. It's never the same. I mean, it might be the same world (who knows) but even if it is, I'm certainly not starting in the same place.



Anyone ever made this work so that you can replicate your start exactly?

I havnt tried so take this with a grain of salt- but i remember reading that the opponents in the game affected the starting positions. So to get the same starting position each 'player' has to have the same faction. IE: If player 3 was a necro, then they have to be a necro in the new game. Starting with 'random' factions will not work.

It always works for me as long as I don't change any settings. I've never tried a seed with a totally different faction. When I did modify my custom faction, I started in the same spot, but the resources, anomalies, luxuries, minor faction and other empire starting point had changed. (I almost always play customer Drakken)
