I don't know if this has been asked before and I can't find it on the forums but I haven't seen any ice shelves ever since tempest came out, so what happend to them?

They seem to be mostly tied to winter effects from Praying at the Temple of Auriga.

Doesn't seem like they occur naturally now.

The later winters do have them naturally. But they are very rare.

Ice shelf are interesting strategiquely : you can pass lacs, you can block boats, you can exploit them by one buildings. It's a problem to have them in such a rare frequence.

Hyper rare now. This has to be changed and occurs really more often. Probably of 25 % for each winter I propose. I don't think devs will update the game I think the dev is other now guys.

We reduced the probability very slightly when Tempest is active to avoid blocking naval warfare too early and often, but they do still occur fairly often without player intervention: when I play Morgawr I essentially use pearls to vote for others effects.

The Morgawr AI also does this

Willbefast, Morgawr can stop producing units in the winter but still navigating on sea, so it's ok.

I do have to agree that I rarely see ice shelves apart from Winter Prayer effects. I think I have seen a naturally occurring one once or twice but that was over the course of more than 6 games.
