Now, to be clear, I know HOW to make Guardians, but I'm having some trouble getting them to fight properly and outfitting them the right way. For instance, in my current running game, it's turn 273 (playing the "kill everyone as Necrophages" game), and the Wild Walkers are the only ones I haven't beaten yet. I have a deployed Gios, level 6, with 2049 hp and damage of 188, and my army just tangled with 2 enemy Gios' with 4399 hp and 300 damage. Both are the exact same level, and my Gios is outfitted with the Club of the Lost Core, which adds 450 hp, and they are using the default guardian equipment that adds sharp sense for a ranged damage reduction. So, what the heck am I doing so wrong when it comes to equipping and buffing my guardians? I'm still winning, but this perplexes me.

Well first you need to pick the right guardian for the job. Gios is great for defending cities or a particular army or location but not the best choice for attack. If you want a strong attack guardian go with Neros. If you think you are going to battle lots of other guardians Fios is a great help. If you are doing manual battles remember that most of the guardians deadliest abilities are not used in retaliations. So the use of a few high life/defense flying/cavalry units with great initiative can save your army.

You make some good points, lesterf. In an offensive role, I noticed that all 6 phases of battle had passed and Gios was still working on getting into position, but fighting a defensive battle and letting enemies come to him is a good strategy. That's how the AI is using him at least. I was asking about what could possibly be the cause of so much of a difference in hit points. The enemy AI has more than DOUBLE the hp of his Gios.

Could there be some unseen factor to the game? Like if Guardians gain strength and durability the longer they exist on the game map?

Hmmmm... Does the owner have 6 Guaran villages pacified for an additional 30% HP on units? Are you fighting against a custom faction or Roving Clans that perhaps purchased the guardians from the market and have the Mercs HPx2 skill?? Maybe higher difficulty level gives enemy AI guardians significant HP advantages? Screenshots and more details or a save file would help a lot.

OH!!! And I still learn more about this game. I'm facing a Wild Walker AI, and it's the last remaining one out of the 5 enemies I started with. I just looked over and it DOES seem to have more than a few Guaran villages! How many, I can't be certain. Part of their empire is still enshrouded.

Here I was worried I was doing something wrong with my own guardians, but nope, just another thing about EL that I didn't know.

Wild Walker generate an awful lot of influence depending on how late is that, so Military Empire Plan can also increase health substantially.

Also, Guardians level like units, so if they´ve seen more battles, they might be closer to level 10 and that also means a lot of health.

If you are on normal speed (so turn 273 means this is a late game situation), Serum of Iteru (Era 6 +100% HP tech) is also a possibility.

Hey Pondera.... It took me a good long while to learn even some of the most basic things about the game. This Wiki can help give you a good jump start on some of the basics that aren't really obvious or clear just from playing. http://endlesslegend.gamepedia.com/Endless_Legend_Wiki

Assimilating the proper minor factions can have a big impact on your game and help you shore up deficiencies in your chosen faction. There is a pretty good guide on steam https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=376629473&insideModal=1

oh, I sometimes visit the wiki, but there really isn't a place that lists all these little tips and tricks. Like stacking Guaran assimilated villages, the +% life on the military plan, and the top tier military tech in order to increase hp by orders of magnitude. Though, rest assured, I'll be doing that in my next game. I WAS thinking that Guardians were a little light on hp anyway, but you know what they say... knowing is half the battle.
