I have three armies next to a city. I tell one to siege and the city strength shows something like '-35'.

Then I tell the next army to seige and the city strength goes to '+5'.

If I tell the third army to siege it goes down again to '-50'.

What's going on here?

Once a siege is started, additional armies join that siege automatically if they stand on a tile adjacent to a borough of the besieged city.

It is possibly that your second click actually disabled the siege, and your third click re-enabled it. +5 points a turn seems like a reasonable siege recovery rate on a city with no or few defensive buildings.

On your second army, the "siege" button should have been animated with a circular sweep to show that the army was already involved in the siege. If it didn't, then that's an interface bug, and you should take it to Tech support as Propbuddha suggested.

Interface bug.... yes, one of the many.

Thanks for the explanation.
