Hello. I notice that my Dye extractor is producing 0.8 dye per turn and not 1.0. I have no idea why. My only possible guess is I chose to play on the "slow" game speed.

One more question on the slow speed. I decided to try it out because I get annoyed at how quickly more and more of the turns are in winter. The unit movement is my biggest annoyance. Does running the game on slow also slow down how fast winter comes?

Slow speed is going to slow everything down proportionally. Yes, it will slow down how fast winter comes but it will also slow down how fast summer comes (winters will be longer).

Game speed is mostly sensible. Production values of FIDSI do not change, but the costs of things does change with gamespeed. However, this is not the case for strategic/luxury resources, which are gained at different rates at different speeds. I guess this is because it's easier to mess about with the strategic cost of things like items and quests if they are gained at a known rate on a per-game basis. For example: you only get to pacify villages once per game, no matter the game speed.



One interesting thing which does not change with game speed is unit movement. This means that the slower the gamespeed the further a unit can travel for the same 'equivalent time period'. As such you should expect to see more of the map at an earlier era in slower games than in faster games, and will be able to complete quests/ruin searches faster.
