I have Endless Legend the base game, purchased through Steam not long after it came out. Between purchase time and when the expansions came out, I had a falling out with Steam (significant financial violation on Steam's part / no support), and now refuse to make further purchases through their service.



I am still interested in playing the Endless Legend expansions, however.



There seem to be very few non-Steam outlets for Endless Legend. The Click to Access Content buttons in the base game do not work for me. Amazon, and a few other online vendors, do seem to have the expansions for sale, however.



I will not purchase expansions through Steam. I'm not interested in re-purchasing the base game at this time.



The question: Can I purchase the Endless Legend expansions through a non-Steam service, and still use the Steam base game to play them?

Absolutely. Even though Amplitude Studios rely a lot on Steam and the features it offers: automatic updates, servers for the multiplayer, a cloud system, achievements, and basically the whole Steamworks integration, their games and expansions can be bought from other distributors, as you said. You'll be able to play.
