What do you think of a league organized through the forums? I think it´s a nice way to stir up the multiplayer enviroment, and it takes relatively little effort to set up. After a main idea is established, it´s very easy to keep an ongoing rank and organize little tournaments.

This could bring a whole "new" light to the game in the form of cooperative matches too. I´ve played experiences of it, as I´m sure others in the forums did, and they lead imo to very interesting dynamics - at the same time as they revealed serious shortcomings in the current game when approached like that, certainly because that was not in the design.

Let´s try not to talk too much about the changes needed for the game to work cooperatively, however. Individual ranks could be already very interesting, what do you think? Who would be in?

I don't know that it's neccessary, I mean, you can play every game competitively, if that's what you want; and the way the game works, there's an equalizing force because players focus on their strongest opposition, usually identifying that strongest opposition by past games. No ranking would mean much until it accounted for hundreds of games.

But all of that just means that I wouldn't bother setting up something like that myself smiley: smile If you want to set up a league and manage ranking, I would certainly sign up.

This is mostly true. I always ignore people who I do not think are threats...however, one thing that would be interesting in all of this is the difference in play from people playing for 2nd and 3rd places instead of 5th or 6th. Because if you are going to track scores after each game this will matter. It's normally all or nothing cause you don't care if you come in 2nd. I think it would drastically change how people play actually. And early wars become risky as both nations fall drastically behind everyone else.

I like the idea....would be fun to have different game types as well....All random, Draft mode, Opposite draft mode, Ban mode, etc etc.

I support the idea of an a league as you describe it. It's good because we can see the global level of players. We may too see their steam account, to contact them. And competition is always good for motivation. ^^

A league would be an excellent idea, I think everyone always enjoys rankings. I am with natev though because I would not want to manage the league myself but I would most definately partake in it.

Nice. Would be super cool if somehow you could also upload the match graph data that you get at the end of the game to the site

I'll take a look at this and upload tonight. It's likely due to the fact you met two victory conditions...
