When I start a game, the poem-thing starts and goes on. As far as I understand, it's the part where the seed is transformed into an actual map. Problem is : it takes from 5 to 10 minutes for my lagtop to finish doing so.

I tought that with the map tool I could be able to dodge it, but it still occurs (anomalies and resources placement I guess). So only solution for singleplayer is waiting. No big deal.

Problem with multi is that everyone has to wait for me, and if it happens that I'm the host, they have to wait for me to finish to recieve the data and start building, which ramps up the time needed to start a game and significatively lowers the will to play new games.

Is there any chance to have an option to just download the map after someone did the hard work? Some friends of mine have super PCs, and while it is not really efficent to let them build and then download all the pack instead of building the map on each PC, it would save a lot of time.

Hope to not be the only one (in the case, no point working on it). Hope it wasn't already questioned/answered. Hope you are having a good day. And remember to activate your boosters!

This wouldn't be possible given the architecture of the game.

For our information, what are the following parameters you are trying to play with:

- hardware specs & what version of windows you are running

- game settings in terms of graphics

- game settings (# of players, map size)

Sad to hear, can't say I'm surprised tho.

Rockin' from a Dell Latitude, the cheap one (5th or 6th gen i3, intel HD Graphics 4400, 4GB Ram, slow as hell HDD)

Game settings are as low as I can get them (fastest, disabled everything I could, and playing on minimal res allowed).

Game settings are just the default ones (map for 8 players but with 6 players, Pangea).

While the GPU is clearly inadequate (but it somehow manages to crack the minimal FPS needed to play a turn-based game) I'm quite sure the bottleneck is my CPU (while generating the world, around "And the Void became the Shape") my PC dies, pretty literally, like if EL needed all the processing power my i3 can give (it probably does). I'm sure you optimized it as much as it is possible, EL has quite a load of stuff to handle when generating a world from a seed, was just asking for a possibility that I tought you deliberately not used to save up network or to do it faster.

Thanks for replying tho, really appreciate it.
