Sorry to ask, but why ? (I also have no MP experience ...)

Forgetten is a pretty cool faction, so I am looking forward to see what you will decide on it. smiley: smile

Dust cost does seem to grow pretty quick; I wonder if the devs intended Forgetten to stop buying technologies later in the game.

The changes to the forgotten last patch was a buff to the forgotten, but in my opinion, didn't do crap for them, as some of the issues I have with forgotten balance is around stealth mechanics.

Said Balance pass will be included in the next update (date TBA), and should incidentally see some changes that will benefit the Forgotten. smiley: smile

Did the mentioned changes ever get released? The last big patch (w Echoes of Creation) didn't seem to include too much about the Forgotten.

In my first game with Forgotten I decided to try getting as many money as I could and buy enough techs to achieve a science victory.

The trouble was that after buying 2 techs of era VI I had collected enough money for an economic victory.

So...

Is possible win with a Science Victory with the Forgotten or you'll always collect enough money for an Economic Victory before buying the necessary techs?

I'm inclined to say that the Forgotten have a bias towards supremacy victory (knocking out capitals), thanks to espionage to remove fortification and completely stealthed armies.

I'd also be inclined to say that if a Forgotten player can win a science victory, chances are they are not far off an economic one too, but my impression is that a Forgotten can easily win before either (as do most factions tbh).

Forgotten are irrelevant in MP.

So what's "too easy"? What changes are necessary?

I had one happen over the weekend @ turn 82 on Fast speed and the player was left completely alone. He probably could have won a military victory if he wanted.

Well, instead of too easy, should better say easier than science victory.

Like you, I feel it impractical, but I like trying those weird victories, just opposed to the faction, lore.

Really? I've never had a multiplayer game go to a peaceful victory, not even close. If one did, I would expect it to go to a Cultist or WW wonder victory, not an economic victory. How many turns do those fast economic victories require?

Finally I achieved It. I followed your advise, and using a huge map the amount of money needed was enough to allow a science victory before collecting enough money for an economic one. Added to this I stole all techs that I can, because you don't need to collect the dust, avoiding to add it to the counter for economic victory, but take care they still increase prices for next techs.

Speaking of econocmic victory, she is really too easy to obtain. In multiplayer the games often stop fast due to that.

One solution to this problem would be to desactivate dust victory in the options.

That is an amusing paradoxe.
