So I finished my first game as the Wild Walkers, I was shocked and disappointed that the Wild Walkers obtained no shapeshifting units via either the tech tree or their personal quest. It seems really bizarre given that the shifting part is such a large part of their feral fluff.

Does anyone else feel like this?

Well the story is about how the Wild Walkers are in fact abandoning that part of their history in favour of building and industry. Indeed, during the storyline, reactionary shamans launch a failed coup against the reformist king because of this.

Adding to what KnightofPhoenix said, the shaman support units kind of take the role of the the bestial/natural Wild Walker. Even though it's not a part of the gameplay (because they're primarily builders who have roots in the forests), it's still part of their kit. They also have the whole Sharing radar thing going as well. That's their link with the beasts feeding them info.

But I can see what you'd want; shapeshifter units! <3

Well if you want shapeshifters, then all you got to do is wait for the "Shifters" expansion and the new faction, the Allayi smiley: wink

Well, I'll say I was also a little disappointed by the Wild Walkers affinity. Their fluff made me expect something more active than a "radar."

Still, as pointed out, the quest is about them overcoming the bestial influence.

For the record, the Agache Shamans that nobody uses in the vanilla game are bestial. They have werewolf legs. ;P
