i'm a big fan of endless legend and amplitude and how they run this company and interact with their consumer base. i think that's a big reason why so many of us enjoy their games and love supporting them. but my friends don't know amplitude, they just see a game that i'm trying to get them to play with me and during these play sessions suggestions keep coming up from them and from me that i'd like to share.

unit diversity within factions:

for me and them it's the lack of units for each faction. i understand that we have the minor factions to employ but i think that having just one more unit would make it feel more complete. the first thing that they ask me when i say that a new expansion is out for endless is "are there more units for the factions?" you've built up these factions with this wonderful lore, i think that having one more unit would round things off.

hero leveling:

from day one, i wasn't really impressed with the hero leveling system. i'm not excited when my hero levels up and i should be excited about that. i'd like for there to be abilities in the leveling or just flashier things to happen in the skill tree. people might not agree with this but i just hate not being excited when a hero levels up. i think that could help with continuation and wanting to get a hero to a certain point.

and really, those are the big things that keep coming up in our conversations. i think it's good to get opinions from people who don't know amplitude that well and just see a game that's trying to entertain them.

thanks

Glad you're enjoying the game, Civilward smiley: smile

With regards to unit diversity within factions, I think it is already present to a larger degree than what may be the initial impression. While it's true that each faction has 3 units, it is also true that most of these units have access to different weapons, which would change their role in battle, sometimes fundamentally so. Stalwarts with 2 handed swords do not fulfil the same role as Stalwarts with swords and shields. Likewise for Drakkenlings with spears as opposed to sword and shield. Or Dervishes with spears as opposed to hammer and shield.

The stat changes aside, you do see a change in function determined by different abilities. So I think there is more depth to EL's unit roster underneath the surface.

I do agree though that the hero levelling up system is a bit weak, and I relate that to the fact that some skills are clearly better than others. So we end up going through the same branches of skills when heroes level up, with little to no incentive to explore other skills.

Both my wife and my best friend found Amplitude before I did, more surprising in the second case as said friend mostly plays Call of Duty games.

I don't feel like the game needs to change in any way to appease anyone. Get your friends to try Civ 5 first if they want to be sure they'll like this. EL is prettier, has Heroes and Drakken to betray/kill.

i don't think it's about appeasing, i think it's about making this game stronger. no game is perfect and endless legends isn't any different. it's one of my favorite games but these are just two issues that my friends, as well as myself, have noticed.

I would like to quickly add 2 ergnonomics queries :

In battle, the possibility to suppress the orders of the AI or our previous choices for targeting. Just a simple button to click on, it would be awesome. All these red arrows can be quite confusing sometimes, and I think it'll be a great addition.

In the city screen, the possibility to directly activate a stockpile of science, industry or food. Because going to your empire management screen to decide to activate a stockpile in an excel table ruin immersion and is really, really tedious and boring.

Regarding the battle : I think they are still planning some improvements to the targeting mechanics. There.s a thread regarding that ...

Regarding stockpiles : they need an overhaul IMO. They.re almost next to useless right now ...
