Augmented Extractor tech - how does it work?

I got a quest for this and this additional tech states my luxury repource extractors should now produce 2 instead on 1 luxury per turn. Well they are not doing so. I have seen this issue discussed by there is no straight forward answer to why.



Can someone explain exactly what conditions need to be met to get this tech to work. If it requires that the resource extractors must be built *after* getting the tech (i.e. it won't affect those you have already built) then what is the solution to that? Can you destroy your existing extractors and rebuild them?

Are you playing on Endless? If so, all resource/turn rates are divided by half. Normally you'd get +0.5/turn and now you'd be getting +1/turn

Yes, click on Browse on your city screen and you´ll see every building. click the little skull to delete.



I´ve don´t think I´ve ever encountered the mentioned issue.

Usually that quest only applies to luxuries from the era you were supposed to build the extractors for (I've personally only seen it for era 1)

I'm playing on Serious difficulty on Endless timescale IIRC.

Then that would be your issue. On normal speed, you'd get 2 resources/turn with the augmented extractor. On Fast 4, etc.

It basically doubles the amount of resources you get from that region in a turn.

To double-check, you can have a look at the values before / after building the A.E.
