Limits on stockpiles?

I just got the game. I'm noticing a number of mechanics are not explained well, even in the manual. Stockpiles being one of those.



I was playing on newbie just to get a feel for the game and what's possible in it. They weren't kidding about the house plant thing...Anyways, to end the game quicker, I bought a bunch of industry stockpiles and tried to apply them to the wonder I was trying to complete. It seemed like the first one applied, but all subsequent ones did not work. I tried it on subsequent turns, but it still didn't work, so it's not a 1 per turn limit.



Is there a limit to these stockpiles? Like, one industry stockpile per building or what? Are there any limits for research/food stockpiles?

It is a one per turn limit-- it's just that since you used multiple stockpiles on the previous turn, you had several queued to apply to the next turn.



Basically, you can only effectively use one stockpile per type per turn per city (per empire, in the case of science stockpiles). You can use more, but that will just prolong the stockpile effect. I agree that this is not as clear as it could be smiley: smile

Actually, if you mouse over the output (like food or production) in the city screen it should tell you how many turns you have left on the booster. It'll say something like +x (based on tech from) from booster or several boosters with a number of turns after it.



Like natev said, using extra boosters just extends the effect, so 10 boosters would give you the bonus per turn for ten times as long.
