My friend is a bit on the slow side and swears his units aren't listening to him. They are all under the control of the Ai going and doing stuff. Did he hit some sort of automate function? If so how does one turn it off? Thanks.

It's a kind of bug. The connection of your friend sucks. It often appears later in game (turn 140+ about).



It should help to load an earlier save (3-4 turns) or just to save game and reload. Else the AI manages city production and moves heroes from your friend, etc..
