Hi All,

So, I was doing a play through with the Cultists. I realized that it is pretty difficult to retrofit cultist units (main faction units) because of the requirement that the unit must be within a owned region. I never even had to think about this with the other factions since it was so simple to retrofit for them but this is pretty difficult in case of Cultists because of the following..

1. Cultist only own 1 region meaning that to retrofit any unit, you need to travel to that region. In my case that region ended up being a coastal region making it even more difficult.

2. In case of other factions, if you capture a city, you get to own the region meaning that you can retrofit pretty much on the go when going on a conquering spree. Totally not possible in case of Cultist since the city is destroyed and region goes to neutral.

Though it is nice to have this diversity between factions I immediately thought that there should be a faction quest reward which rewards a hero specific item which allows to retrofit the army which the particular hero is commanding outside of owned regions as well. Making this as a late game quest reward would be pretty sweet accomplishment to achieve without unbalancing the game I believe.

Any thoughts?

It's an interesting idea, but from a point of balance, Cultists seem to have enough advantages not to on top of that be able to retrofit at will.

The item is a good idea (considering having to go back and forth can get old fairly fast), but comes way down the improvement list, so I'm not sure about its feasibility at this point. smiley: smile

Thanks for the acknowledgement! Rewarding a hero item on completing a late game faction specific quest was just an interesting idea which I thought I should share. Would be a sweet achievement to have after getting frustrated a few times by the constant back and forth to retrofit smiley: smile

Late game, with the proper hero talents and unit equipment, travelling through the entire map is not a big problem.

You do not retrofit that often , do you ?

I don't agree for two reasons :

- Cultist are already the most powerfull race, and very easy to play at good level. They don't need this super power. Why not so allow the retrofiting of the cultist villages spawaned units ?...

- Retrofiting mean a full access to logistic chain. You can't access to logistic at 100 kilometer of your country. Healing ok because we can considier it's a magic and natural healing, but not retrofiting.

At first I was angry that Cultists were "punished" with the limited area in which they can retrofit with their only one city. Then I was angry that I couldn't even retrofit in the areas of my converted villages. Then I realized what I was asking for. A nation that can reach level 3 district wonders and regular districts, which needs to defend only one city, that has free average military in a blink of the eye, would remotely retrofit their Nameless stack of death? Their gameplay would be as much as raiding the whole map, traveling from one city to another, simply milking stockpiles and gathering Dust for retrofits as I feed my science and improvements off Weapons of the Enemy and Destructive Analysis (BTW "Destructive Anal." as the tech abbreviation in the main map screen? C'mon Amplitude smiley: biggrin).

Also, from lore's point of view it didn't make much sense. Queen's influence is powerful, but weakens with the distance from the High Seat. Units are dispensable, their task is either to impose Queen's will or die. Those who are too weak and keep up the pace face the latter fate. New converts and recruits will take their place.
