Pretty standard reply, but Vaulters. They were humans, the only full humans on the list, plus... I really liked how they looked.

Vaulters, because I wanted to understand their story to play them in ES2

They were all right I guess, much prefer the Allayi and Drakken

Necrophage! I generally play 4x games as a non-aggressive faction (diplomacy or science or wealth) but wanted to give those bugs a try and really enjoyed their specialized mechanics and their lore story. (Their theme music is pretty bitchin' as well.)

The first faction I tried were the Roving Clans – really enjoyed them and kept on enjoying them ever since (like all other factions tbh).

Well, i tried at first the drakken race, but got shredded because of bad equipment and my enemies had strangely an advantages in some way, even when i played on easy (yeah its kinda shameful, but i just started playing it). After that i played as the Vaulters and man, how i loved them and they aesthetic is quite nice, trought they patchwork cities kinda bugged me, nowadays i am trying again the drakkens, and its quite fun, trought they mostly magic based heroes are weak as cardboard. I am the only one who finds the roving clans and those elf guys (i cant remember their name) kinda medioucre, opposed to the rest ?

My first game was as Ardent Mages, but for some reason I found them pretty boring, so I quit after 5 turns or so. My first actual game was with the Necrophages, and boy was it a blast playing as them and devouring everything in my way. Usually I play very passively in 4X games, going for a more peaceful type of victory, but in Endless Legend the aggressiveness just flows through me, specially as Necrophages since you're rewarded and even forced to go all in war mode. Right now I'm trying to learn Cultists as they are another hyper-aggressive faction(Or so was I told) and found the combination of their gameplay style and lore really appealing.

I think my very first was the Ardent Mages, but kinda got wiped out really early on....necrophages, i hate those guys.

But then i went to the loving-embracing arms of the Cult and never looked back. First win on immortal and always testing the new expansion with them.

I really don't remember which faction I played first. But on my 2nd playthrough, and most after, I've been on Broken Lords all the way!

My first play was with the wind walkers. I don't finish it, boring in story as in gameplay. Then i tried the vaulters and discovored the endless univers with them.

Drakkens for their intro and story. Sadly I'm not wel suited for diplomacy.

Mine second choice were Necrophages. I find myself well attuned to their playstyl50 houre.

Sadly I played only 50 hours and I just cant find time & mood for return to this outstanding title.

But if I'll do I'll finish stories of Drakkens>Allai>Ardent mages> Wildwalkers>Broken Lords>Vaulters>Roving Clans.

The usual first-round incompetence plagued my Vaulters, but I still loved them. Not as much as Space Vaulters, but still. My desire to ASSIMILATE actually suits the Cult more, but they really wierd me out...

I bought the game on a whim and assumed it was just another fantasy 4X game. And then through my Walkers game I slowly worked out that Dust was more than magic and that the Endless universe was a lot bigger than one world...

I actually went for the Roving Clans myself the first time. A dozen or so trouncings later, I finally won my first victory with the Wild Walkers, and then discovered the Allayi, and haven't been looking back since.

What's funny is that I just can't play Roving Clans even now, I love their design but their gameplay is not for my tastes I think.

Broken Lords and stayed with them, Loved mostly everything about them.

I had some issues till I realised it's all about the dust baby! And also when using mods I adding more dust support and the game was even more fun.

Well, I only started playing this game yesterday. I started with the Mezari as I like the United Empire and went their way there in ES2.

I wanted to find out what they did on Auriga.

edit: unfortunately I had to leave this game. My starting position was really bad and very soon I ran into massive Dust problems I couldn't solve. My second game as the Allayi is pretty amazing, though.

Going into Endless Legend there is a lot of really cool races, some really unqiue stuff. So I'm wondering, after booting the game up for the first time. Who did you play as for the first time, and what did you think?

I played as the windwalkers and... hated then. I found them so boring in comparision to the other races. They felt like an average race in another 4X game. After playing quite a bit more of other races I can appeciate their skills and stuff, but my first impression was not good haha.

I'm fairly sure I tried the Drakken first and while I enjoyed them, I don't think I went for diplomacy victory as It was obviously my first game.  They're still one of my favorites, though I also enjoy the Broken Lords and the Allayi.  Can't quite find my footing with the Roving Clans and I just don't care for the singleminded gameplay of the Necrophages.

I also like Roving Clans, even if they weren't be stronges in battle. I liked the theme of merchants and travellers. They are nice to play if you want Diplomatic or Economic victory, also if you want to harass your oponents with, heh, neutral units.
