Hi all,

Can somebody help me to understand what "+20% cost reduction on empire approval (happy)" bonus does when you build the Museum of Auriga?

I've read somewhere that this is a cost reduction bonus on researches for Forgotten (same effect as their first era empire plan on science) which compensate the science bonus from this wonder which forgotten basically cannot use. I also checked this wonder bonuses with "Shadows" DLC turned off and yeah, there is not such a bonus, therefore it was added with "Shadows" DLC. So everything seems to be logical and right. But here is the problem: this bonus simply doesn't work if I play Forgotten. After I build this wonder nothing is changing in technology cost (the empire is happy or fervent), I've also checked the prices in different eras and still nothing.

I also heard the idea that this is a production/ dust cost reduction for buildings or units in the city where the wonder was build. But again, I didn't see any changes in buildings or units production/ dust requirements after building the Museum (the empire and cities were happy). Have anyone seen an actual effect of this bonus? Cause I can see only the basic effect from happiness (+15% food and production). It's just weird, I can't find anything what this bonus can affect smiley: frown

So is it a bug, or maybe I missed something or don't understand? Without this bonus this wonder is not as good for forgotten as I thought. Can someone who knows the answer explain it to me?)) Thank you smiley: smile

I have found descriptor of Museum of Auriga in SimulationDescriptors[DistrictType].xml, line 126

What is this -- "TechnologyCostReductionFromEmpirePlan" ?

I think it is influence cost of EmpirePlan, not Technology costsmiley: wink

TechnologyCostReductionFromEmpirePlan is definsed in the Research class, and is used in the calculation of research costs in the same section.

However, both this calculation and the Museum of Auriga use the percent operation, so it is possible that they so not apply in the right order. I will run some tests and get back to you.

Edit: The Empire Plan uses the same property and works just fine. The check for the empire status is probably at fault here.

Hi. I don't understand the final answer, could someone elaborate please.

I concur with Nikita96 in that it does not drop the purchase price of technologies for the Forgotten.
I also checked on the empire plan and it's cost did not go down either for the Forgotten.

So is their a 20% benefit on something for the Forgotten? If the answer is yes, what does it apply to?

Thanks.
