Hello,

IOWs, what are the visual cues for me to know that attacking the enemy from X hexes from a city will still get the support of the city militia?

Regards,

As far as I understand, you will get militia reinforcements whenever the battlefield overlaps one of your cities. I am not sure if it has to overlap the city center or only a district tile, though.

I believe that a city tile has to be part of the combat map in order to trigger the militia.

You can preview the combat map by right clicking ans holding down the right mouse button over an enemy army.

I have battled and had the militia engaged well outside the dark region of my cities. In other words, you can attack an enemy or have an enemy unit(s) attack your units even if they are outside the city limits...thus my question. And, if someone says "well, look at the battle screen, you'll know then", I would say...yes, of course, but then it is too late, you are already committed to the battle.

Therefore, I would hope there is a visual way to know (even a mouse over) when your city's militia will be involved in the fight.

Any others know?

Thanks for any help.

Maybe he needs a second opinion on this - mine may be not good enough ^^

What Icarus said is true, on both counts. The battlefield needs to overlap with at least one city tile, which you can preview by holding the right mouse button over an enemy army (when selecting your own army).

Ah, thanks folks for your comments. I will pass along to my co-op family and friend.

And, sorry I didn't catch it the first time; I meant no disrespect.
