Does the AI try to complete the last quest in which they are required to explore the 5 ruins?

I keep expecting the AI to move their forces into my territory (forcing a war against me) just so they can explore a ruin within my territory.

Are you referring to the faction quest which leads to your winning the game? If so, they never complete that quest. The Ai never wins via quest victory...it cannot.

I'm play on Hard difficulty or higher. And I've not seen my opponent's armies try to explore the 5 ruins.

Ahhh yeah, I know that they can't terminate the game with a quest victory.

So are you saying that they just sit in their domains forever when the game notifies me that my opponents are at the point of their fake quest progression?

I'd like to see them at least invade my territory so that I can thin down his armies in my advantage.

They continue to do whatever they were doing before towards a different victory condition.
