Question regarding buying Inferno.

I recently finished a run with the Allayi (having all DLC except inferno), and I can honestly say that I did not explore or use the features from Shdows and Tempest DLCs. Particulary infiltration an spionage, and with naval warfare I did the bare minimum (I just took a naval stations or two, did not follow the naval questline, and i did not engage THAT much in naval battles with other empires). With all this I'm trying to say that given the limited time to complete the game, there's some things that get left out in my playtrhough.

I do not doubt that Inferno is a good DLC, but since I will not be playing with the new faction (I really want to try others first), I'm afraid that the new features coming with the DLC will be overlooked from my part, and I can do just fine without it from the time being. To the ones who already bought it and play it: is there a really noticable difference in the gamestyle?

If that's not the case I think I'll wait for a sale or when I finish my runs with the other factions.

TL,DR: Is Inferno bringing features (aside of the new faction) wich change drastically the gamestyle?

Inferno includes lava tiles (which can be toggled on/off in the Planet Generation Screen) are noticeable to an extent and Dust Eclipses (which, to me, drastically change the pace of the game, as it's like Winter but positive). Then again I've played all the factions and tried all the mechanics and have nearly 400 hours invested in the game.

I'd say you should buy it (as Inferno adds a new unique trait to each faction that ties into the Dust Eclipses so it'd be good to get used to them now rather than later).

I see, thanks! One more question (kinda off topic): what's the best difficulty to play wich ensure that said features need to be played arround? For example, maybe I didn't care for spionage because the game difficulty was too easy (I have played in medium and begginer difficulty)

Yeah of course !

Uh, it kinda depends on your skill level with Endless Legend, 4x games, and strategy game in general. I like playing on Endless, but in the beginning, I played around with Hard and Serious. The difficulty also changes for each faction based on the world generation settings.

I guess, in summary, try out hard/serious with different world generation settings, and you'll eventually figure out for yourself what is too difficult and too easy.
